Junior Billing Agent (Volunteer)

We're looking for a detail-oriented volunteer to join our billing team on a part-time basis. This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity perfect for students, aspiring accountants, or anyone looking to gain hands-on experience in billing operations and WHMCS administration. You'll help manage customer accounts, process payments, and ensure smooth billing operations while learning industry-standard hosting management systems. Time Commitment - Part-time volunteer position (flexible hours) - Approximately 5–15 hours per week based on your availability - Flexible scheduling around your other commitments - Some weekend/evening availability preferred but not required Key Responsibilities - Process and manage customer invoices in WHMCS - Handle payment-related inquiries and support tickets - Assist with account suspensions, cancellations, and reactivations - Process refunds and billing adjustments - Monitor payment gateway transactions and resolve payment issues - Update customer billing information and payment methods - Generate billing reports and track outstanding invoices - Maintain accurate records in WHMCS database - Escalate complex billing disputes to senior team members What You'll Gain - Hands-on experience with WHMCS, an industry-standard billing platform - Understanding of SaaS and hosting business billing operations - Experience with payment processing and financial workflows - Knowledge of customer lifecycle management - Mentorship from experienced team members - Reference and recommendation for future opportunities - Certificate of volunteer service upon successful completion

Requirements - Basic knowledge of WHMCS (required) - Strong attention to detail and accuracy - Good organizational and time management skills - Excellent communication skills in English - Comfortable working with numbers and financial data - Reliable internet connection - Trustworthy and able to handle sensitive customer information - Minimum age: 18 years old - Commitment to the volunteer role for at least 3 months Nice to Have - Previous experience with WHMCS administration - Familiarity with payment gateways (Stripe, PayPal, etc.) - Understanding of basic accounting principles - Customer service experience - Experience with hosting or SaaS billing models
